Acts 13 Initiative

The Initiative
The Acts 13 Initiative, founded and directed by Keith and Beth Lindsey, is centered in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, boasting a population of twelve million people. The ministry gets its name from Acts 13:3 which reads, "So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off." It refers to the time that God told the church of Antioch to set apart Paul and Barnabbas and send them out as missionaries. This is our mission Scripture for us as we try to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to identify and train Asians from the local church and send them out as missionaries.

Our Mission and Ministry
Our Missions is "To identify, train, and resource Asian believers to reach Asia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Our Ministry is to:
1) Identify Asians to reach Asia through involvement in local churches throughout Asia.
2) Train those people identified in the local church to reach Asia through our ministry training programs.
3) Mobilize and resource Asians for evangelistic ministry to all of Asia.

The Three Ministry Training Programs
In Training Asians to Reach Asia, The Initiative Will Offer Three Programs:
1) The Ministry Leadership Institute (MLI) is a church based leadership development program offering courses in a weekend seminar format.
2) The Ministry Leadership Academy (MLA) is a five-month residential program focusing on ministry skill development through practical application.
3) The Missions Internship Program is an eight-week experience for 18-24 year olds including both classroom work and field exposure.

The Acts 13 Initiative will not stop at the training stage. One of the goals of the Initiative is to place and resource trained Asians to reach the continent by networking with ministries across Asia, providing the Initiative with ministry opportunities while partners around the globe provide necessary resources.
